Golf is hard, right? Well, it’s not true. Swinging a golf club is a relatively simple task no matter what you’ve heard. These group lessons are for the beginner adult golfer. Instructor Michael Turnbull specializes in helping beginners become more confident and enjoy this great game.Lessons will cover an overview of the game of golf, including rules and etiquette, putting, chipping and pitching, and full swing irons and woods. Class meets for four 60-minute lessons, plus a fifth class at the Par 3 to provide a real golf course experience. Clubs and balls provided. Class size is 6–10 students. $99

  • Day 2 The Grip, Posture, Short Game (Chipping) – Rhythm and Balance
  • Day 3 The Grip, Posture, Pitching, and Full Swing Irons – Feeling Rhythm and Balance

  • Day 5 Playing the Par 3 Course – Rules & Etiquette

*Final class meets at the Par 3 Course at 7 pm.

Monday Night Lesson League

This league provides new players with an opportunity to meet other new players and experience golf in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The Lesson League is designed for golfers with two years or less of playing experience and for those who have already completed some form of instruction program. Michael will organize the league and provide on-course oversight each night to answer any questions. The first class will meet at the Par 3 course for an introduction to the league and a Mindful Golf lesson. The second class consists of a Mindful Golf lesson and time on the course. In weeks three through seven players will play the Par 3 course accompanied by Michael. Class size is 12–24 students. *No September 7. $125

Mindful Golf Clinics

Trying too hard? It doesn’t have to be that way. These clinics present a relaxed and simple way for beginners and intermediates to learn new and interesting things about a variety of golf topics…and they’re great fun. Students will learn to feel the difference between swings that work and swings that don’t. Clinics meet on Saturdays at 10 am for one hour. Clubs and balls provided. Class size is 6–10 students. $25/clinic

Woods Clinic

Learn to feel what is important when swinging the long clubs. Discover your sources of consistency and distance with both your driver and fairway woods.

Short Swings Clinic

Students will learn simple short swing techniques and methods to increase consistency and confidence. The ability to use a variety of clubs will add creativity to your game and lower your scores.

Irons/Hybrid

Topping the ball? That’s not much fun. Golf is mostly played from the ground, not off a tee. This clinic presents a simple and relaxed way to feel the difference between a swing that rolls the ball on the ground and one that launches it in the air. Discover what matters most when hitting approach shots and develop some confidence with your irons/hybrids off the ground.

Pitching Clinic

Partial swings can be golf’s most difficult shots. They also are the most important scoring shots. Students will learn to use clubs from different lies and learn different types of shots to improve their score.

 

Wine (or beer), Women (Men too), & Mindful Golf Clinics

Trying too hard? Thinking too much? It doesn’t have to be that way. It doesn't have to be that way. If you're the type of golfer who wants to escape the checklists and technical jargon, these clinics are for you.

Join PGA Professional and Mindful Golf Pro Michael Turnbull to learn some very simple methods to swing a golf club and increase your confidence on the course, not to mention enjoy a glass of wine while you learn. Site: Lesson Tee. Class size is 6–10 students. $30/clinic

Friday Night Mindful Putting Clinic

The goal of this clinic is to have fun, work on your putting, and have a glass of wine all at the same time. Putting is a rather simple swing which has a huge effect on your score. This clinic will help you focus on what matters most when facing those elusive putts. And enjoy a glass of wine while you do it!

Women And Wine

Women and Wine is a beginner program developed to introduce women to the game of golf. The goal of the program is to overcome many of the barriers that women run into as beginners or occasional golfers. The program will focus on basic fundamentals in a fun and social atmosphere. There will be four sessions. Class size is 6–10 students. Site: Lesson Tee. $99

  • Week 1 Queen of the Green: Games and skill challenges speciic to putting that will get you excited to practice your form.
  • Week 2 Chip and Sip: Learn the art of hitting the short shots to the green.
  • Week 3 Driving Club: Discover how to send your drives further up the fairway.

Registration for Group Lessons begins in March and is on a first-come, first-served basis through the Brookview Golf Shop.
